SendGrid connector

Introduction

The TranslationOS connector for SendGrid makes it easy to entrust Translated with the professional or automated translation of your designs and templates, saving you the hassle of importing and exporting content or switching between tools.

This connector is event-based, meaning it is triggered by specific actions. To learn which actions trigger the connector, see the section Requesting translations.

Support

For general questions about functionality, our dedicated support team can be reached at info-tos@translated.com.

If you need technical information or you’re ready to integrate your SendGrid instance with TranslationOS, feel free to reach out to us at api@translated.com for assistance with onboarding.

The onboarding process may vary depending on your needs, but the following steps are a helpful guideline:

  1. Translated will ask you to provide an API key (see below for instructions to retrieve it).

  2. You will agree with Translated on the required service levels, also known as service types. Translated will take care of configuring the connector for you.

  3. We will be ready to receive, process and deliver your translation requests!

Setting up the connector

You will need to generate an API key on SendGrid and communicate it to Translated. We will then complete the connector configuration for you.

Generating an API key

You can create a new API key by following the instructions here. Please ensure that full access rights are granted for Design Library and Template Engine, as per the screenshot below.

Click Place order to complete your order.

Processing your order

SendGrid does not have a concept of localisation. As a result, our connector duplicates the assets you send for translation, appending the target locale to the file name. If an asset already exists with that name, each duplicate is numbered, in the same way as your computer’s file system.

For example, if you send a design named Sample Design for translation into European French, the connector will create a duplicate named Sample Design_fr-FR. If you resend the same item for translation, the next duplicate will be named Sample Design_fr-FR (1), and so on.

Monitoring the translation progress

Once the order has been submitted successfully, the status of the included forms is available on TranslationOS.

Receiving the translated content

As each request is delivered, the duplicate asset created when the order was placed is updated with the translation.

FAQ
